4. Anonymous Software Usage Telemetry (Desktop Applications)
Aravals software products (including Aravals Stream, Remote Capture Agent, Aravals Server Manager, and Aravals Download Manager) are built with a privacy-by-design architecture. To maintain software stability, understand active version adoption, and ensure compatibility across operating systems, our desktop software may transmit lightweight, anonymous usage metrics.
What We Collect:
- Random Installation Identifier: A randomly generated client-side UUID generated on first launch. It is never derived from your MAC address, hardware serial numbers, Windows SID, machine GUID, username, or IP address.
- Product & Version: The internal product identifier (e.g.,
aravals-stream) and build version string (e.g.,0.20.1-beta). - Basic Environment: Operating system platform (e.g.,
windows) and processor architecture (e.g.,x64). - Lightweight Events: Infrequent application lifecycle pings (launch, daily heartbeat, update, or shutdown).
What We NEVER Collect:
- We never store your IP address in our analytics database.
- We never collect stream keys, passwords, authentication tokens, or private chat messages.
- We never inspect file contents, downloaded file URLs, video recordings, or stream canvas data.
- We never fingerprint hardware serial numbers, network adapters, or personal identities.
Data Retention & Aggregation:
Telemetry events are deduplicated once per UTC day into anonymized daily active installations (DAU/WAU/MAU) and version distribution aggregates. We do not maintain indefinite logs of individual event transmissions.
User Control & Opt-Out:
Telemetry collection is completely optional and never prevents any Aravals software from launching or functioning. You can disable Anonymous Usage Analytics at any time within your application's Settings > Privacy > Anonymous Telemetry toggle. If the telemetry server is offline or unreachable, the application continues to operate without interruption.
5. Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know.
